ETRADE was born in the 1980s as a place for retail investors to control their own investments online without the need for a human broker and credited with sending the first online transaction to an exchange. Now established as a top online trading platform, ETRADE (aka E*TRADE from Morgan Stanley) offers a lot of perks to their clients; one of which was a special discount on TurboTax online products.
So, is the ETRADE TurboTax still available in 2026? Here’s how E*TRADE customers can get the best deal possible on TurboTax this tax season, plus how these two titans of personal finance work together to make filing your taxes a little easier.
ETRADE TurboTax Discount This Year?
For many years banks and trading platforms, including ETRADE, offered customers a special discount on TurboTax. In fact, they promoted the discount within customers’ accounts starting in January and where it remained throughout tax season. By clicking the promotional link, customers were taken to a special ETRADE-branded page on turbotax.intuit.com where a 10-20% discount would be applied to TurboTax online products.
While the ETRADE TurboTax discount has not been offered for in some time, the same discount is available from numerous other partners online including Mighty Taxes and popular banks like Chase, Vanguard, and Coinbase. So, I encourage ETRADE customers to use one of these other TurboTax affiliates to get the featured discount this tax season.
How much is the discount? The featured TurboTax discount is consistent regardless of whether you find it through ETRADE or elsewhere online. The discount is better early in the tax season with the best savings starting in January and running through February. After that, prices go up and the discount decreases as the procrastinating masses start to think about filing their taxes.
TurboTax Can Import Your ETRADE Forms!
Even though ETRADE is not promoting a discount on TurboTax this year, customers can still save money and time by using the two platforms together. That’s because TurboTax supports importing brokerage tax forms, like your 1099-B Consolidated Tax Statement, directly from ETRADE by Mongan Stanley once those forms are available and the import process is live.
Some eTrade clients mention that the forms aren’t available until February, so don’t fret if you don’t see them at the start of tax season. Also, make sure your brokerage account is enabled for third-party data access, so TurboTax can connect and pull things in from your ETRADE account.

No ETRADE TurboTax Discount, No Problem!
While you probably won’t find a TurboTax discount in your ETRADE account, you can find the same offer packaged differently from a plethora of other TurboTax partners online. Some groups, like AAA, AMEX, and AARP also offer the same discount to their members, ad qualifying students and members of the military can often file at no cost.
Also, if you are just signinging up with ETRADE, they have a special promoton here for a cash credit when you fund your new brokerage account.
